1. Bask in the Sun at Murter Island

Enjoy the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters of Murter Island with 3 beach locations: Čigrada, Plaža Riva Podvrške, Plaža Betina.

They offer a variety of beach bars, shade, rocky edges, pebble beaches, nudist area, child's area, and then the area you find that suits you best is your area. I tend to walk further than most people are willing to be able to find peace and quiet and dive off rocky areas so I can play music on my bluetooth speaker.

Čigrada is super cool because its known for being a quieter beach (AKA few children playing and screaming). It's located in a curvy promenade with several restaurants and inlets to rest and relax. Right above this beach, is a scenic outlook called Vlake-panorama so you can grab some beautiful photos and count your blessings, and realize your dreams.

The views from Plaža Riva Podvrške are the most magnificent. You are looking at The Kornati Islands and the sunset is golden like mango sorbet. A number of coves are available, and they vary each day, so take your time walking around and settling in. This is one of the best beaches near Tisno for festival-goers if you are looking to hang out for a few hours to swim, drink, and admire the the scenery.

Plaža Betina is stretched alongside a road, similar to an 'Ocean Drive' if you will. You will find that there are beach bars with shade so you can sit for a drink in between swims, or you can continue South East for slabs of concrete that isolate you from the crowds. It's very approachable in the sense that you park the car, and viola you are there. Whereas other beaches may require more walking and searching for the right spot.

2. Relax at Jezera Scenic Beaches

There are three beaches next to one another, offering different vantage points, so you can visit them all on the same day.

Plaža Vrtiluka is my top choice because there wasn't anyone there. We practically had the place to ourselves, and the view was gorgeous.

Plaža Guščica being my second pick due to the popularity of it. The view is SO spectacular, it draws a moderate amount of people. It overlooks an island that you could swim to.

4. Explore nearby town: Šibenik

Šibenik is a hilltop old town rich in history full of things to do such as concerts, walking tours, dining, spas, and wine tastings. The nearby swimming location to this town is Primošten which is scenic beauty overload.

This is the perfect combination of things to do before or after the music festivals, so you can get an exposure to Croatian culture and heritage. Tisno is more of a countryside and not active during the Winter season, whereas Šibenik will show you a better picture of Croatian life.

5. Explore the Secluded Beaches of Kornati National Park

Embark on a boat tour to the untouched landscapes within Kornati National Park. The National Park is an archipelago of 89 distinct islands, islets, and reefs that are a marvel of this world. To Explore Kornati National Park from Tisno, you will take either a private watercraft or an organized tour offered from the shores of Murter, Šibenik, or Zadar.

It was a vulnerable place to live up until the 13th century, so you can see medieval ruins. Some of the landscape looks ominous like Mars and some are lush with green, creating a stark contrast and diverse ecosystem. It's popular for diving and snorkeling due to the exotic algae, plants, and coral reefs.

6. Take a Dip in the Renowned Waterfalls of Krka National Park

Enter the park through Skradinski Buk, where the entrance fee is around 40 euros, though swimming is not allowed there. However, if you go through Roški Slap, swimming is permitted. Since prices and regulations can change, it's best to call ahead for the latest information.

Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as the tour can last over an hour, taking you through historical sites, monasteries, scenic viewpoints, and multiple sets of waterfalls. You can also opt for a boat tour or a refreshing swim.

Getting to Krka National Park from Tisno requires either a private car transfer or a bus ride. If you love outdoor adventures, this will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your Tisno festival experience.

Croatia's Natural Beauty

There's a diverse ecosystem and places to choose for basking in the sun, exploring hidden gems, and experiencing the wonders of the world while you are visiting for music festival season. I'm happy to share with you these places as it will give you a richer exposure to Croatian life and heritage, whereas if you only stay at the music festivals, you will maybe not even meet Croatians because it's a foreign festival filled with foreigners.
